Lufthansa Airlines clarify use of AirTags on flights

Airline business Lufthansa has swung in between banning the use of AirTags on baggage and letting them.

Lufthansa Airlines

Lufthansa tweeted that Apple’s monitoring products ended up frowned upon in checked baggage, but then did a brief 360 and claimed that the AirTag, with its small transmission power and battery, did not pose protection risks.

The company issued a tweet that now allows its use. It was peculiar how the airline considered the AirTag unsafe in flights inspite of global rules saying they were not.

Tweets commenced circulating the web when the airport reported that they had been ‘banning activated AirTags from luggage’ as they had been deemed ‘dangerous and have to have to be turned off’.

Then, the company stated how baggage trackers are subject matter to perilous items restrictions according to ICAO recommendations. Lufthansa endorses deactivating the trackers for the duration of the flight if it’s related to checked baggage.

As it turns out, the reference to the battery regulation was off since it suggests that the battery has to be more than two grams in order to be bundled.
